Thami Tsolekile blog: "What a great result"
What a great result for us against the Dolphins. The win means that we have our destiny in our own hands and if we beat the Eagles in Bloemfontein on Sunday we are into the semi-finals.
I have to take my hat off to the Dolphins. When they were three down with not many on the board I thought we might bowl them out for about 140 but Dave Miller played a superb knock to push them to 159.
Robbie Frylinck and Ethan O’Reilly did a good job with the new ball for us but the Dolphins managed to wiggle off the hook.
But I thought Neil Mac and Vaughn van Jaarsveld batted really well for us. They showed all their experience and won us the match with their partnership of 69.
They never let the run-rate get out of hand and in the end the win was probably a bit more comfortable than it looked even though we only pulled of the win on the last over of our innings.
Having said that, the Dolphins match was just the workout we needed before taking on the Eagles.
With both teams on eight points it is a winner takes all game. Whoever loses is out of the tournament while the winner will be into the semis.
There could be a twist though if it rains.
If that happens then both teams will go through and the Cobras will be out!
I will be keeping a close eye on the weather because if it rains it will be a lot easier to get into the semis if we get the two points for a no result.
It just shows how close the Pro20 is with the fight for the semis going down to the last group matches with so many different permutations.
