Thami Tsolekile Blog: "Robbie hitting the last ball for six!"

What a great win for us against the Titans. We probably made it harder for ourselves than it needed to be but I think we deserved to win the match in the end.

Before the game we would have taken 143 to chase but losing wickets in the middle of our innings put us under pressure.

What should have been a comfortable run-chase became a bit difficult but all credit must go to Jean Symes and Robbie Frylinck for keeping their heads in that final over.

It is not easy to score 17 runs off six balls but Jean took the pressure off with his four and six and there is not too much you can say about Robbie hitting the last ball for six!

But it wasn’t just our batting that got us home. Our bowling was superb up-front with Ethan O’Reilly and Shane Burger taking early wickets.

That has been a key aspect of our Standard Bank Pro20 season. We have realised that if we can strike with the new ball and take two or three wickets it puts the opposition under huge pressure to come up with a defendable score.

Getting the win under our belt was extremely important for us.

We wanted to take advantage of playing at home and we did that and now the pressure is on the Titans because they have to win two games in a row, which is not easy in Pro20 cricket.

Our job will be made a little bit more difficult because the Titans will have all their international players back for the next game and although we are aware of the challenge we face, it is one that we welcome.

Their returning players are obviously very experienced but we want to test ourselves against them because if you want to be the best you have to beat the best.

Roll on next Friday!
