Hello Trinidad & Tobago

Today was a travel day and so I should have begun with the fear of oversleeping and missing the transport to the airport. Obviously there was no chance of that happening because I could absolutely rely on Ronnie the rooster unless he had been devoured by some nocturnal killer during the night.

Up at 05h00, the French Open tennis until about 06h00, pack and bags downstairs by 06h30 and then another cup of coffee, a bit more tennis, some cricket from Lords where England are playing Bangladesh, breakfast and ready for the transport call of 07h45. By 07h55 I was beginning to think that the rest of the guys were cutting this whole thing a bit fine until I discovered that I was the one who was an hour early rather than them being 10 minute late.
Back to my room, more tennis and cricket, phoned my wife and I was ready to roll at 08h45.

The trip to the airport was a quiet one with most of the guys either sleeping (which was an art in itself as we turned a corner every 50 yards on a not so smooth road), full of i-pods or reading. There were three LIAT flights leaving that morning and all were occupied by either cricketers, officials, administrators or the IMG crew.

My dear friend, Trevor Quirk, will be delighted to hear that I have had my bags searched twice already whilst going through security. The first was at Gatwick on the way out where I had my ‘Head ’n Shoulders’ confiscated and now in Dominica my toothpaste was confiscated because it wasn’t in a plastic bag! So Trevor the saga continues the Silver Fox is the only one of the whole crew to be searched!!

The flight was about one and half hours and we had the South African team on our flight which gave me the opportunity to have a brief chat with Graeme Smith, most of which was about the new book by Andre Agassi that he is reading at the moment. Once again LIAT lived up to the acronym of Luggage In Another Terminal as Nick (producer) found out as his bag failed to make it.

Half an hour later we were in the Hyatt Hotel in Port of Spain. Now this is a very lovely hotel which I am still busy finding out about. Huge rooms but in town, so my view is across the city which isn’t as pretty as overlooking the sea. In fact I have yet to find out just where in town we are, I have a feeling we are quite near the harbour because I saw a ferry station that provides transport across the water to the nearby island of Tobago, hence Trinidad & Tobago. More tomorrow after a thorough search.

If you're in Spain you

If you're in Spain you shouldn't bother to find out more about the rooms! You should go outside in a pub, eat local food, drink sangria and flirt with the spanish girls! They're hot as hell! Or you'll fin a romanian one! They are even hotter!
