Pierre Joubert Blog: "An awesome performance from the team"

Beating the Eagles by nine wickets in Kimberley in our Standard Bank Pro20 match was an awesome performance from the team. It was clinical, professional and I couldn’t have asked for any more from the guys.
What was pleasing is that we lost Roelof van der Merwe and Albie Morkel during the week to the Proteas but the new guys slotted into the team perfectly and I think it shows how much depth we have at the Titans.
The highlight of the game was Blake Snijman’s knock of 89 and I can’t praise his effort enough.
Jacques Rudolph was batting with Blake and when Jacques came off at the end of the game he said it felt like he was batting in quicksand the pitch was so slow.
He said it was incredible that Blake was able to just smash the ball all over the place.
Even though Blake’s runs got us home, I think some credit must go to our bowlers.
Ethy bowled a spell and a half up front that had the Eagles under pressure immediately. For Ethy to only allow eight runs off four overs is something special.
We are not in the semi-finals yet but we are certainly in a better position than some other teams but we won’t be taking anything for granted. We certainly won’t be resting on our laurels when we take on the Warriors in our last group game.
It is never easy against the Warriors but we have played them so often this season that we know their game pretty well.
If we can beat them in our last game we will probably be in the semis so next Friday’s game is a big one for us.
Even through we played so well against the Eagles there will not be too much time for relaxing. We will have one day off and then it is back to training and more net sessions.
The cricket season still has about two months to go so we will not be taking our foot off the gas just yet.
