Morne van Wyk Blog: "Great way to get back on track"
What a great way to get back on track against the Dolphins! The guys stuck to our plans really well, and we have always said that in Pro20 cricket, you just need one of your top five to bat through and thenj you should be in a good position to win the game.
I was very pleased with my contribution, and I guess it was my turn to do well for the boys at Sahara Stadium. I’ve been working a lot on my technique ahead of the competition, and I am so chuffed to see the hard work being rewarded.
A few people have asked me about my cut shot, and what can I say, it is one of my favourite shots and I hit a few out of the screws on Wednesday.
The competition is obviously wide open right now, and we know that we have to build on that performance and try to book a spot in the semis.
I read something very interesting the other day, that Shane Warne had said he wishes he was 20 years younger, so he could really reap the rewards the game is offering up now.
Coming from a guy who has done so much for the sport, it just shows you that the game we all love has never been in a healthier position.
If we can seal a spot in the Champions League, it can open other doors for us – especially with it being so difficult to get into the national set-up!
I was really pleased with how the guys sealed that first Test, and will be crossing thumbs for them in the final Test.
My goal is obviously to get into the team, and hopefully some strong performances can result in another chance at the top!
