Post Match Dolphins vs. Titans

Tonight was the opening of the Pro20 Rock Star Cricket series, and what a cracker it was going to be. Unfortunately, a power failure caused a 10 minute delay and rain caused play to be abandoned far too early in the game, around the 13th over of the first innings.

This didn't help much as the Dolphins had an extremely slow start with Khan and Bosman at the crease. In the 2nd over Khan was caught by Kuhn at the boundary for 7 runs and was replaced by Ahmed Amla. Amla and Bosman put on a small partnership when Bosman was run out for 5 in the 5th. Dale Benkenstein, the "big hitter" for the Dolphins entered the stage and managed to a boundary or two and was consequently caught on the boundary by Rudolph for 13 runs in the 8th over.

Enter Dave Miller. With a number of boundaries within the first few overs from Miller, the Dolphins seemed to be on top of things. Except for the weather. Rain delayed play for a while, the covers were then removed a while later and play resumed. First ball and Miller clobbered Morkel for a 4. Rain stopped play for good on the next ball.

Dale Benkenstein and Dave Miller put on a great show for us, especially with Miller's two enormous 6's, exciting the crowd. It was short-lived. Let's hope the Cobra's vs. Lions at Sahara Newlands Stadium fairs better with their Rock Stars shining bright.
