Justin Kemp Blog: "We’re really disappointed"
We’re really disappointed about the loss against the Warriors. Our batting didn’t go that well on a really good wicket. I thought Nicky Boje bowled a really good spell and probably won them the game to be honest. I thought we bowled okay but Justin Kreusch and Davy Jacobs batted really nicely.
We were probably outplayed on Friday to be honest. In hindsight, we probably should have batted first. It’s just that we haven’t batted second in this tournament. We just thought it would be good to try and have a go at batting second.
We pretty much in the semi-finals unless it rains in the match between the Eagles and the Lions in Bloemfontein.
We have had quite an up and down campaign so far. We’ve been inconsistent and that’s been our problem in this competition.
But, there’s no doom and gloom in the camp. We’ve played good cricket this season in all formats. In the Pro20 we just haven’t had anybody in the top three to bat through. The guys keep getting in and getting out and we’ve battled to get momentum going. We’ve got such a long batting line-up, we should be able to chase anything.
We would have backed ourselves to win three out of these five games but that’s how it goes. If we sneak in and get a semi-final then it’s game on again. We’re really motivated to do well if we make the semi-finals.
