Imraan Khan Blog: "Bowled and fielded excellently"
It was a very disappointing day at the office for the Nashua Dolphins.
We bowled and fielded excellently to restrict the Nashua Cape Cobras to less than 120 runs.
With the exciting and energetic Kyle Nipper at the helm, well supported by the experienced senior statesman Johann Louw, we held sway with our bowling attack.
But our batting was very disappointing, and we fell away alarmingly after we were in a useful position on 72/3.
I think it was a tough wicket to bat on. It was a bit up and down, and also slow.
The three wickets in one over, by Rory Kleinveldt, was a turning point in restricting us to 102.
We had a disappointing campaign and our final game against the bizhub Highveld Lions in Potchefstroom will only be of academic value.
We are out of the running, but we would like to finish on a high note with a real bang.
You cannot focus on one area if you have been below par like we have been in the Standard Bank Pro20-competition. We need to improve significantly in all departments if we want to pulverize the Lions.
David Miller, an exciting young prospect, has ignited the Kingsmead-crowd with some magnificent batting this season.
Kyle also used his limited chances in the Standard Bank Pro20-competition and has excelled with superb execution of his left-arm craft.
