Maritzburg College reaches Schools Pro20 finals
Clear blue skies, a cool breeze and a thoroughly enjoyable Schools Pro 20 regional final at Sahara Stadium Durban, what a fabulous Friday afternoon.
The boys played their hearts out with Kearsney College's Lambert scoring big for them.They finished their 20 overs with 109 runs and 6 wickets lost.
Maritzburg College came in struggling, losing 3 wickets in the first 3 overs to Kearsney's Van der Merwe and Kirsten. Fortunately, Gregg Miller and the rest of the team came back strong and finished with a decent 112/6, successfully making it through to the next round of the competition.
Miller was named man of the match, scoring 56, the highest number of runs. Maritzburg College will now represent KwaZulu Natal in the national leg of the Standard Bank Schools Pro20 competition.
