Davy Jacobs blog: "I’m really happy with the win"
I’m really happy with the win over the Cape Cobras and the most important thing for us is that different guys are making different contributions at different times.
If we look at the stats Rusty Theron and Colin Ingram have been quite consistent with the ball and bat throughout the season. But what we do so well is that when they don’t perform, there’s always someone else that steps in to help out.
I am especially excited about the way Nicky Boje bowled. The Cobras got off to a great start and we were under pressure. But Nicky pulled it back superbly well by choking them up in the middle part of the innings and, of course, the three wickets were fully deserved. He took three for 10 in four overs in this game, but he’s also been playing a big role throughout the season and has been a very good acquisition for us.
It’s great to have qualified for a possible home final and a second-leg semi-final also at Axxess DSL St George’s. But that not what it’s about for us. We don’t take anything for granted even though we’ve managed to win seven in-a-row now. We take one game at a time. I know that’s a cliché, but that’s the way we play the game. We not going to get ahead of ourselves and we’re not even looking at the semi-finals yet. We’ve got to play our last pool game against the Titans in Centurion on Sunday and then after that we’ll look at the next game.
