The Standard Bank Pro20 Kaboom Tour 2009

One small step for Standard Bank Cricket, one giant leap for SA Marketing and PR

As you may know, Standard Bank took a giant leap forward in South Africa's marketing and public relations field by publishing SA's very first Social Media Press Release in April 2008.

The original SMPR (from the Pro20 We got the Kaboom! campaign) evolved with this year's Pro20 Kaboom Tour '09 campaign, and continues to help connect fans with Standard Bank Pro20 Cricket and with each other.

Poor wicket taking

Hi guys I felt that the bowling attack was weak. We shouldn't take credit for New Zealands poor batting. We only took four wickets. That is terrible. We need front line bowlers who can strike.

We don't have much options, but we should consider playing another strike fast bowler instead of two spinners. Although spinners are important, we need strike bowlers up front. How about playing Yusuf, he took a lot of wickets for Kings 11 Punjab. Although he was expensive we should consider him.

Thanks

And thats a wrap

If the Kaboom Tour 09 was ever going to be made into a movie, you couldn't have asked for a better script writer than than the 6 teams in this years competition.

From last years Champions, the Titans, not being able to reach the semi finals, to the 2 tied semi finals. The Kaboom dancers and Dunk tank added to the excitement, which can only get better in the next few seasons.

I had a blast at every single game I attended, and I know that the crowd at Kingsmead, also loved every ball of every game.

It's a Wrap

The Standard Bank Pro20 Season has sadly come to an end with the Proteas err I mean Cobra’s coming out on top.

The Kaboom Tour has given South African players a solid platform to successfully exhibit their talents to the world.

In this regard Standard Bank are true legends for accommodating such an awesome series and should be congratulated for supplying the fans with an amazing atmosphere at every match. Thank You Very Much!

Nashua Cape Cobras 2009 Pro20 Champions

The Nashua Cape Cobras won the 2009 Standard Bank Pro20.

Setting a target of 147 to win, The Eagles were never in it. The Cobras bowlers showed discipline as they made it difficult for the Eagles to hit boundaries.

The lack of boundaries created immense pressure, the batsmen failed one after the other.

The Proteas filled Cobras team have finally pulled it all together and won a domestic trophy.

Herchelle Gibbs got the Master Blaster award for his impressive batting, Gibbs won this one on his own, pure class.

Well done Cobras.
