South Africa vs Australia - 1st ODI Match Review

South Africa's batting middle order batsmen let the Kingsmead down, which resulted in a very silent stadium. The Australians have won the game by 141 runs

Gibbs and Smith managed to put on a pretty decent partnership with Gibbs getting 33 while Smith managed to crack his 50, ending on 53. The Australians completely dominated the 2nd innings with their bowling. Nathan Hauritz was the chief destroyer taking 3 wickets.

South Africa will need to put in a good couple of hours in the nets at Supersport Park before their game on Sunday.

South Africa vs Australia - 1st ODI Match 1st Innings

Australia put on a fantastic batting display at Kingsmead in the first innings, with Michael Hussey top scoring with a great knock of 83.
The Aussies ended up with a respectable 286 with 7 wickets falling.

The South African Bowling attack was mediocre with Dale Steyn & Morne Morkel picking up 2 wickets each. The South African fielding can be commended with 2 great run outs straight after each other, as well as a couple of great catches in the field.

The atmosphere at Kingsmead is electric and the weather seems to be holding out with only a few clouds lingering.

South Africa vs Australia - 1st ODI Match Preview

"Captain Courageous" Graeme Smith returns to the South African team today, to lead the Proteas to a hopeful series victory, carrying on with their success after the Down Under tour. The historical stats are not in South Africa's favour at this ground, as the Aussies have won the 4 of the ODI's played here, while the Proteas have only won 2.

The Proteas need to carry on with their fantastic short game style of playing, after beating the Aussies in the 2 Pro20 games earlier this week.

Dolphins vs Cobra's

It's a warm and muggy Durban afternoon. Anyone who knows Durban knows that this is a normal day. For the out of towners, they may think they have overstayed their welcome in the steam room at the local Virgin Active.

The Cobras, who grace us with their presence from Cape Town, will definitely have their work cut out for them this evening. The weather will not be the only influencing factor, but the fact that the Dolphins are currentley placed 2nd on the log with a game in hand.

Titans are Pro20 Champions!

The Titans have won the Standard Bank Pro 20 Series with a 18 run victory over the Dolphins.

When Smit and de Bruyn went it was only a matter of time before the Dolphins tail were sent packing.

In the end it was the class of de Villiers in the Titans innings and the bowling attack, led by Steyn and Mbhalati, that got the Titans the title, to go with the 45 over championship they won at the start of the season.

Smit Out

Smit is out to a brilliant diving catch on the boundary by Bodi.

There was some confusion as Smit hung around and the umpires eventually asked the third umpire to have a look, with us in the crowd debating if he should be checking whether or not Bodi touched the rope or if it was an over, the waist full toss.

Eventually Smit had to go, out for 36 from 24 balls, a great little knock to get the Dolphins back into it.

Pierre de Bryun is 25 not out and it has to be up to him to get the Dolphins home.

120/6 the Dolphins need 34 from 20 balls.
