Morne van Wyk Blog: "To lose by two runs is never nice"

Our Standard Bank Pro20 campaign is at an end and what a way for it to finish.

To lose by two runs is never nice. You end up spending half the night lying awake in bed, going through the game in your head, wondering what you could have done differently.

We did some things very well during the game and some things not so well but it wasn’t to be and I guess Lady Luck was smiling on the Lions a bit more than us.

Thami Tsolekile blog: "We managed to keep our cool"

We are into the semis and I couldn’t be more proud of my team. The Lions have had a tough season off the field but I thought the boys showed great maturity and calmness to pull off such a tight win against a very good Eagles team.

Before the game I would have taken 150 so to score 184 was great although sometimes, when you post such a big score, you have a tendency to think that the game is already won.

I have to give credit to Morne van Wyk because it looked as if his innings had maybe given his team the edge.

But luckily we managed to keep our cool to hang on.

Morne van Wyk Blog: "My timing in the end was gratifying"

It was a very special win at Boland Park, and although the opening partners set up the victory, it was the bowlers who made the hard yards for the Chevrolet Diamond Eagles.

Our bowling attack, spearheaded by Dillon du Preez, captured wickets regularly in this vital Standard Bank Pro20 match against the Cape Cobras.

A key wicket was Justin Kemp. He was starting to blossom and when Dillon got him, it set them back.

Because of the wickets at key moments, the Cobras simply could not get momentum. They needed to re-establish a platform each time after another dismissal.

Justin Kemp Blog: "We let ourselves down"

We let ourselves down in the Standard Bank Pro 20 loss against the Eagles at Boland Park.

We did not start well, and then resurrected things to an extent.

But we did not capitalize well and did not finish strongly enough.

The regular loss of wickets was a factor. It was a stop-start affair that we need to improve on.

In fact, during the last two matches we made the same batting mistakes by losing regular wickets.

We should have added another twenty to thirty runs and we need to set the record straight with the bat in our final league match against the Warriors on Friday.

Morne van Wyk Blog: "The wicket did not play how we expected it to"

It is never nice being on the receiving end of a nine-wicket loss but we probably only have ourselves to blame.
The wicket did not play how we expected it to and by the time we readjusted we were already too far back in the game.
I must give credit to the Titans’ bowlers who summed up conditions really quickly and they put us under a lot of pressure.
We also ran into an in-form Blake Snijman who made batting look a lot easier than it actually was on that pitch.

Pierre Joubert Blog: "An awesome performance from the team"

Beating the Eagles by nine wickets in Kimberley in our Standard Bank Pro20 match was an awesome performance from the team. It was clinical, professional and I couldn’t have asked for any more from the guys.
What was pleasing is that we lost Roelof van der Merwe and Albie Morkel during the week to the Proteas but the new guys slotted into the team perfectly and I think it shows how much depth we have at the Titans.
The highlight of the game was Blake Snijman’s knock of 89 and I can’t praise his effort enough.
