World Twenty20 Fantasy League

Fresh from the IPL action, cricket fans can look forward to the World Twenty20 tournament which kicks off this week on Friday 5 June. What a party we're having at Newlands!

I've got to tell you, I'm having a fabulous time at the cricket tonight. Everywhere I look I see smiling, excited people having fun. And fireworks, of course. (I'm not jumping quite as much anymore though, you'll be pleased to know.)

It's no secret that the crowd here tonight is firmly on the side of the Cobras. The Eagles have lost two wickets so far, and the folks here in the Achiever Box with me celebrated both of them with great vim and vigour.

Kaboom indeed!

Goodness! Fireworks at a cricket match? This is extraordinary indeed. I nearly jumped out of my seat when I heard the kaboom - for a moment I thought one of the machines at the brewery next door had exploded! But then the pretty young ladies in front of me started cheering and pointing and saying, "Oooh, fireworks!" and I realised what was going on.

It really is delightful being up here in the Standard Bank Achiever Box - there are beautiful, enthusiastic young people everywhere, and the food looks absolutely scrumptious.

Myles in Durban

Good day my young pups

I was fortunate to be down in Durban for the Nashua Cape Cobras vs. Nashua Dolphins yesterday. My goodness, what a game it was. The day was warm, although the sky was overcast, and although there was a light drizzle expected, I was not expecting the disappointment of having the game end due to rain.

The game started out quite spectacularly, especially the impressive batting from Gibbs. It was a little sad that he didn't make his century, but still a spectacular game.
